Staff Spotlight

Our goal with 'Staff Spotlight' is to recognize and celebrate our dedicated and compassionate employees who have not only devoted countless hours to the families we have served but to the community as well. Every month we will 'Spotlight' a different employee and highlight different aspects of his/her personal and professional life.

Todd Sherman

Todd is a funeral attendant, groundskeeper/maintenance supervisor, and crematory operator that has been employed with Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium for 36 years. Todd is actively involved with West End Fire & Rescue as an EMT/Firefighter and is a volunteer coach with the Shippensburg Area Little League. He also is a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge #315, Shippensburg and attends Cleversburg United Methodist Church.

Charles E. Myers

Charlie is a funeral attendant that has been employed for a total of 53 years, starting with the J. William Barbour Funeral Home. Charlie also worked at Hoffman Mills for 45 years on the night shift, retiring in June of 2002. He became a forest fire crew member in 1960 (warden in 1975), is a life member of the PA Forest Heritage Association, and joined Vigilant Hose Company in 1962 (56 year member and 20 years as Chief). Charlie has also been part of the Fire Police for 28 years and is currently the Chaplain. He is the founder of the Shippensburg Fire Safety Task Force (1987) and has served as the Assistant Chief of the Shippensburg Borough Fire Department. Charlie has been the President of the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association, Cumberland Country Fire Chiefs Association, Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association, and the Firemen's Association State of PA; he has received numerous awards in these associations. He also belongs to many organizations involving trains and tractors and is a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God.

Barry Negley

Barry Negley is a funeral attendant and crematory operator who has been employed at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium since 2010. Barry is a life member of the Cumberland Valley Hose Company and Vigilant Hose Company. He is also a member of the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association, served as a fire policeman, is a member/past president of the Shippensburg Coin Club, is a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #315, and is affiliated with the Shippensburg First Church of God. Barry's past employment includes Cressler's Fruit Market (9 years), SKF Industries (14 years in the accounting department), and Park Lanes Bowling Alley. Barry currently serves as an elected tax collector for Shippensburg Township as well as a local associate broker in real estate for Sailhamer Real Estate, Inc.

Justin Barton

Justin came to work at Fogelsanger-Bricker while attending Shippensburg University and continued on after completion of mortuary school and testing requirements to become a licensed funeral director. He has been employed here for nearly 20 years. In his free time, he likes to do anything active and be outdoors. He resides in Shippensburg with his wife Christina.

Derek C. Herb

Derek is the son of Bill and Pam Herb, and has been employed at FBFH&C since 2010. Born and raised in Shippensburg, he is a 2012 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, and a 2016 graduate of Shippensburg University where he majored in Marketing. He then completed a two year program at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Derek went on to complete his internship here at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. and has been a licensed funeral director since June of 2020. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, hunting, and working out. Derek is a member of the Hub City Club and resides in Shippensburg.

Don Tosten

Don is a funeral attendant that has been employed at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. since 2015. He was born and raised on a farm in the Shippensburg area and graduated from the Shippensburg High School in 1964. Don worked for Valley Quarries before a 36 year tenure with Pepsi, Newville, where he retired from in 2010. Don married his wife Linda in 1970, and together had a daughter, Christie Kissel and a son, Matthew Tosten. He has five grandsons, Hunter and Kyle Kissel, and Caleb, Asher, and Silas Tosten. Don and his wife are members of the Greenvillage Church of God, where their son Matt is the Pastor. Don enjoys hunting, golfing a different courses, and spending time with his family.
