Wilma Martin

April 14, 1946 — February 6, 2017

Wilma J. Martin, 70, of Chambersburg, departed this life on the morning of Monday, February 6, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on April 14, 1946, in Greencastle, a daughter of Richard Lehman and the late Betty Snoke Lehman. Wilma was a 1964 graduate of Chambersburg High School. She married Larry L. Martin on April 14, 1973 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg. He preceded her in death just two months ago, on December 13, 2016, after forty three years of marriage.

Wilma worked in the Clerical Department at the Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 2012, after forty-three years of employment. She also operated Penny Saver Car Care, with her late husband Larry.

Wilma attended the Open Door Church, Chambersburg. She enjoyed spending time vacationing with her family at their house in Ocean City, MD. Wilma and her family enjoyed eating out and could hardly go into any local restaurant where she didn’t know most all the waitresses and other staff members. She was a wonderful caregiver as a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Someone who could be depended on to help care for someone else when help was needed.

In addition to her father, Wilma is survived by two sons, Keith A. Carbaugh of Waynesboro and Troy L. (Donna) Carbaugh of Chambersburg; three daughters, Dena J. (Nick) Strait of Shippensburg, Heidi J. (Dustin) Green of Chambersburg, and Denise J. Martin of Chambersburg; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon (Bobby) Combs of Chambersburg; and a niece, Lori Hepfer

In addition to her mother and husband, Wilma was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Janine Martin.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel of the new crematorium building.
