William R. Weaver, Sr., 76, of Mainsville, died on the morning of Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on February 16, 1937, in Mainsville, a son of the late William C. and Edna V. Burkholder Weaver. William was a U.S. Army veteran, enlisting in 1959 and honorably discharged in 1962. On December 26, 1961, he married Ms. Carolyn V. Bohner in Hagerstown, MD.
William was a self employed Mason who at one time formed a company with his brothers called Weaver Brothers Builders and was also a member of the Shippensburg Fish and Game.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn; three sons, William R. (Gail) Weaver, Jr., David L. Weaver, and Corey A. (Dorinda) Weaver, all of Mainsville; one daughter, Sabrina B. Baker of Harrisburg; four granddaughters, April, Molly, Zoe, and Mackenzie; three great grandchildren, Laila, Jase, and Carson; two brothers, Ted and Eddie Weaver; one sister, Juanita Sprecher; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben and Don Weaver.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. James O. Bolich will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
