William Singer

William J. “Bill” Singer, 79, of North Harmon Road, Newburg, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital.Born October 26, 1931 in Mifflin, PA., he was a son of the late Norman W. and Edna I. Hamilton Singer.Bill was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for many years, and attended the Blue Mountain Brethren in Christ Church. He loved and cherished his dog Bear, enjoyed hunting, and was a devoted family man.Bill was a member of the Hub City Club and Minnequa Club, both in Shippensburg and the AmVets # 224 Chambersburg.Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Pauline M. Miller Singer, two sons; William C. Singer and his wife Esther, Newburg and Charles L. Singer and his wife Jeanne, Fayetteville, three daughters; Karen S. Finkey and her husband Donald, Orrstown, Sharon J. Singer, Shippensburg and Brigett R. Thomas, Fayetteville, one brother; Robert Kyle, Fayetteville, seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, with the Rev. R. Leroy Eberly officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery.
