William R. Rosser, 79, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 30, 1936, in Scranton, the son of the late William W. and Dorothy C. Carbaugh Rosser. William attended Shippensburg High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Armored Division.
William was a carpenter throughout his life and a member of the Carpenters Local Union #287, Harrisburg; attended the Prince Street United Brethren Church; was a life member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg; and a member of the N.R.A. William loved the outdoors, hunting whitetail and pheasant, with his old dog Millie; fishing for trout in the local area streams; and also, just simply feeding the songbirds around his home.
He is survived by his wife, Judith E. Heberlig Rosser; his daughter, Erin Naugle of Gettysburg; two grandsons; his sister, Marlene M. Everett of Shippensburg; and his nephew, Bradley Everett of Shippensburg.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Garry L. Culler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday, at the church.
