William Park

William G. “Bill” Park, 78, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Monday, January 26, 2015, at home, with his family at his side.

He was born on March 26, 1936, in Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon Co., a son of the late Chester C. and Florence A. Miller Park and was a 1956 graduate of Saltillo High School.

Bill was employed at the Domestic Casting Co., Shippensburg, as an Iron Pourer for over thirty years and also worked as a certified LPN with the Chambersburg Hospital earlier in life.

Of the Baptist faith, he was a member of the Chambersburg Bible Church and was presently attending the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg. Bill was a life member of the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the Pennsylvania State and Franklin County Fire Police for over forty years. He was also a member of both the Dry Run and Greencastle Fire Companies, was a Franklin County Deputy Sherriff earlier in life, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Bill is survived by three sons, Benjamin E. (Cindy) Park of Orrstown, Bernard E. Park of Orrstown, and Clarence E. (Sandy) Park, Sr., of Shippensburg; three grandsons, Brian Park of Orrstown, Clarence E. Park, Jr., of Shippensburg, and Eugene Park of New Castle, DE; three granddaughters, Ashley Park of Shippensburg, Devon Park of Shippensburg, and Angel Park of Ashland; two brothers, H. Jessie Park of Mapleton Depot and Robert J. Park of Doylesburg; two sisters, Beatrice A. Carson of Greencastle and Peggy M. Waite of Mapleton Depot; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Fay M. Waite Park, who died on May 14, 1997; one grandson, Robert Park; three brothers, Chester Paul Park, Edwin T. Park, and Sonny Park; and three sisters, Betty Stever, Helen Glunt, and Mary Querry.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Gary Yoder and Brother Earl F. Stovall will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Thursday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
