William Marshall “Bill” Alleman, 67, of Gettysburg, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his home with his loving wife by his side.
Born Thursday, December 2, 1948 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, he was the son of Paul E. and Helen M. Smith Alleman of Hanover.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Gettysburg. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1970 and his Master’s Degree in 1972 from the Shippensburg State College. Bill retired from Fairfield School District where he was the Elementary Librarian, with 39 years of service.
Bill was a Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagle’s fan. He was an avid reader, and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed books on tape.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, M. Jane Seibert Alleman, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
