Wesley Eugene ‘Wes” Keefer, 63, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Thursday, November 22, 2012, at ManorCare, Chambersburg.
He was born on October 29, 1949, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Donald and Dorothy Melius Keefer.
Wes has been employed for over 41 years at the Grove/Manitowoc Co., Shady Grove, currently as a forklift operator.
Wes is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth Heefner Keefer, his daughter, Pamela (Michael) Howard of Lynchburg, VA; his son, Anthony W. (Stacy Osler) Keefer of Shippensburg; two grandsons, Anthony D. Keefer of Shippensburg and Joshua Howard of Lynchburg, VA; three sisters, Donna (Robert) Zullinger of St. Thomas, Nancy Keefer of Fayetteville, and Trina (William) Wines of Chambersburg; four brothers, Dennis Keefer of Chambersburg, Terry (Rhonda) Keefer, Sr., of Chambersburg, Kevin (Linda) Keefer, Sr., of Fayetteville, and Brian (Teresa) Keefer of St. Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie Higgins.
Next to his family, Wes loved socializing, horseshoes, and the Washington Redskins. He was a member of the Minnequa Social Club and the current Vice President, the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, the Hub City Club; all of Shippensburg, and the Chambersburg Moose Lodge #842.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Lester Stine will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
