A. Wayne Heberlig, 69, of Newburg, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Monday, December 16, 1946 in Newburg, he was a son of the late Mary G. Shields.
Wayne was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1999 from the Shippensburg University as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Survivors include his companion of over 18 years, Peggy S. Reed, Newburg, one son, Greg A. Heberlig, Leesburg, one daughter, Michelle R. (husband Jeremy) Kelso, Newburg, three brothers; Dale , Ronald, and Nelson Heberlig, all of Newburg, two sisters; Joann Sprecher, Newburg, Darlene Davidson, Shippensburg, and six grandchildren.
Wayne enjoyed farming, mowing grass, Turkey hunting, and helping out the neighbors.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Philip Steele officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the James W. McCartney Post # 232 Color guard, Dry Run.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg F.F.A. 317 North Morris Street, Shippensburg. PA 17257.
