Wayne J. Hancock, 71, of Pleasant Hall, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 in his home.
Born October 9, 1939 in Carlisle, PA, he was a son of the late Harper and Eveleena Warren Hancock.
Wayne worked for over 38 years at the former Sealtest Company in Chambersburg and retired from Valley Quarries in Shippensburg. He was a life member of the Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company and was of the protestant faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Richard and Roger Hancock, and one sister Nancy Hancock.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Hoover Hancock, one daughter, Cathy E. Bumbaugh and her husband E. David of Chambersburg, two grandchildren, Jennifer E. and Shawn D. Bumbaugh both of Chambersburg, one brother, Samuel Hancock of Orrstown, three sisters, Patricia Adams of Shippensburg, Peggy Furry of Fayetteville, and Mary Lou Thaler of Chambersburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor DeVona Cordell and Chaplain Donna Shrader. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
