Wayne W. Goshorn, 78, of Lurgan, died on August 6, 2010, at his home
Born on December 18, 1931, in Spring Run, PA, a son of the late Carson and Eva Clugston Goshorn.
Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran, drafted on January 22, 1953 and honorably discharged on January 11, 1955.
On March 28, 1954, Wayne married Ms. E. Arlene Burdge in Winchester, VA.
He was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot, as a carpenter, retiring on January 1, 1987, after working there for 35 years, 11 months, and a day.
Wayne was a life member of the James McCartney American Legion Post #232, Dry Run, where he was a past commander; the Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Shippensburg; the P.O.S. of A.; and the Path Valley Stag Club, where he was past president. He was also a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church, Valley Forest #145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Shippensburg and the Orrstown Masonic Lodge #262 F.A. & M.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, E. Arlene; one son, Darwin W. Goshorn of Shippensburg; two daughters, Ramona (Tom) Timmons of Orrstown and Kathy (Harry Jr.) Hedge of Shippensburg; one sister, Virginia (Lewis) Sailhamer of Shippensburg; two brothers, Harold (Lucy) Goshorn and Larry (Barb) Goshorn, both of Spring Run; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Goshorn; one sister, Venus Kessler; and three siblings in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Richard E. Mose will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home, concluding with masonic services by the Orrstown Masonic Lodge #262 F.A. & M.
