Wanda M. Black, 74, of Orrstown, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Thursday, March 18, 1948 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Dennie W. and Janet Pearl Kendall VanScyoc.
Wanda was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. She was a 1966 graduate of Big Spring High School.
She retired in 2011 from the Cumberland County District Court 09-3-01 with 29 years of service as Secretary.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert A. Black, Sr. whom she married November 15, 1969; one son, Robert A. (wife Teresa) Black, Jr., Fannettsburg; one daughter, Amy E. (husband Anthony) Diehl, Orrstown; six siblings, Wesley A. (wife Judy) VanScyoc, Mainsville, Elizabeth P. (husband Douglas) Black, Shippensburg, Lee J. (wife Shannon) VanScyoc, Oshkosk, WI, Rosemary E. Young, Grace K. (husband Dennis) Smith, and Vivian J. (husband Eugene) Cohick, all of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Kierstin M. Black; one grandson, Ian M. Black, both of Fannettsburg; and numerous nieces; nephews; great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne F. VanScyoc.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Green Spring First Church of God, with Rev. Philip Steele officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. and one hour prior to the service in the Church.
