Walter Ebbert Love, 95, of Shippensburg, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Friday, September 15, 1922 in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late William Ebbert and Florence Loy Rosenberry Love.
Surviving are his wife Janell Kline Love, one son, Jesse E. (wife Suzzi) Love, Thurmont, MD; one daughter, Donita M. (husband Michael) Hawkins, Dillsburg; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, William Love, Woodbridge, VA; also a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Roy, and John Love, and three sisters, Cora Love, Helen Grove, and Janet Lehman.
Walter was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren in Christ Church of Shippensburg. He was a self-employed farmer from 1943 until 1976 with the Hall & Love Farm on Spring Ridge Road in Shippensburg. He also worked for the Shippensburg Area School District in the Outdoor Maintenance Department. Walter was a member of the NRA.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor Wayne Hall and Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. Burial will be private in the Middle Spring Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home
