W. Cecil Wiser, 87, a resident of the Orrstown Personal Care Home, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the home.
He was born March 15, 1930 in Blairs Mills, PA. Cecil was a son of the late William “Bill” and Helen Smith Wiser.
He was a retired farmer and also a self-employed truck driver. Cecil was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore “Ted” Wiser and one sister, Janice Baer.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Beulah Anna Zook Wiser, two sons, Kenneth L. (Barb) Wiser of Lurgan and Dennis E. (Teena) Wiser of Fayetteville, two daughters, Bonnie J. (Timothy) Mellott of St. Thomas and Donna R. (Dana) Gettel of Shippensburg, one sister, Louise Rosenberry of Shippensburg, ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Lurgan United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Pastor Stan McCammon and The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be held in the Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg.
