Vivian J. Peters, 86, of Shippensburg, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born Thursday, December 16, 1926 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Anna Hammond Miller.
Vivian was a graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God. She retired from the former H.J. Heinz Company as a Lab Technician. She also enjoyed quilting and cooking.
Surviving is one son, Jeffrey L. Peters and his wife Carol of Chambersburg, two daughters, Suzanne J. Hoch and her husband Harry and Patricia A. Haywood, all of Shippensburg, two sisters, Dorothy Daniels and Rachel O’Donnell both of Chambersburg, five grandchildren; Melanie Barber, Matthew and Stephanie Hoch, Kip and Cleadis E. Peters, III, nine great-grandchildren, two nieces Joyce Showvaker and Elizabeth Shover and one nephew Patrick O’Donnell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleadis E. Peters, Jr., who died in 1991, two sisters, Mary Showvaker and Barbara Miller, one great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Peters and one nephew, Larry Daniels.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. W. Stanley Darrah officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
