Vivian Carol Negley, 70, of Shippensburg, died on the afternoon of Friday, May 24, 2013, at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
She was born on May 29, 1942, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph W. “Bid” and Sarah Gilbert Nehf. Vivian was a 1960 graduate of Shippensburg High School and then went on to graduate from the Carlisle Beauty School. She married Mr. Wesley E. Negley on September 30, 1960 at the Cleversburg United Methodist Church.
Vivian was a self employed beautician for over fifty years, working from her shop at home and also at J.C. Penny and Luther Ridge, in Chambersburg. She was a long time member of the Cleversburg United Methodist Church and regularly attended its Bible Study group. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, and especially, spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Wesley; two daughters, Lisa (Todd) Sherman and Rhonda (Mark) Richardson both of Shippensburg; one son, Matt (Jo Ann) Negley of Shippensburg; a daughter-in-law, Mitze Negley of Windsor, SC; three sisters, Virginia Breon of Newville, Mary Ann Bittinger of Shippensburg, and Judy Myers of Shippensburg; and one brother, Kenny Nehf of Shippensburg; eight grandchildren, Kristopher (Lauren) Negley, Shannon Negley, Francis Negley, Ashley (Jon) Sherman Nevling, Tyler (Holly) Sherman, Benjamin Richardson, Paige Richardson, and Kyle Negley; four great grandchildren, Alexander Nevling, Abbigail Nevling, Mitchell Sherman, and Cyrus Negley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by one son, DeWayne Negley; one sister, Grace Delancy; and two brothers, Charles and Edgar Nehf.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Barbara A. Servello will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cleversburg Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
