Vivian Keefer

Vivian B. Keefer, 89, a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville, formerly of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Friday, December 25, 2020.

She was born on May 17, 1931, in Mifflintown, a daughter of the late Edward C. and Catherine (Zeiders) Benner.

After graduating from the Franklin Square School of Nursing in Baltimore, Vivian worked as a registered nurse for over twenty five years, at the former Guillford Hill Nursing Home, Chambersburg Hospital and Carlisle Hospital, from where she retired.

Vivian was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg Historical Society, and the former Shippensburg SHARP Club, and she enjoyed traveling to Florida. Vivian will be remembered as a great nurse, excellent homemaker, and wonderful mother.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert E. Keefer, Jr., and wife Jodi of Jupiter, FL, and Terry T. Keefer and wife Marchetta of Winston Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Christian and Catherine Keefer; her brother, Larry Benner of Carlisle; her sister, Mary Kremonas of Silver Spring, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert E. Keefer, Sr., who died on September 18, 2008.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will no public viewing, visitation, or service at this time, per Vivian’s wishes, however, a graveside burial of her and her husband’s cremated remains, will be planned for the springtime, in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church.
