Virginia May ‘Ginny” Chain

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who lit up the world with her smile, Virginia May “Ginny” Chain, 84, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
She was born on September 2, 1930, in Haddonfield, NJ, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Lillian Wright Ramsden, Sr. Ginny was a 1948 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School. She married William B. Chain, Jr., whom preceded her in death on February 18, 2014, after 64 years of marriage.
Ginny was a current member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg, sang in the adult choir and also played the piano there. She was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Association, the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 Ladies Auxiliary, Shippensburg, and the Cumberland County Farm Women’s Group #21. Ginny was a past member of the Haddon Heights First United Methodist Church and Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Haddon Heights, NJ.
She is survived by her son, William Bridges (Jane) Chain, III of Carlisle; her daughter, Sharon Hill (Mike) Hubbard of Wilcox, AZ; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred (Bob) Frazier, and Ann Meyers, one brother, Tom (Ann) Ramsden, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, August 10, 2015, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg with Pastor Susan Stewart officiating A visitation will be held from 4:30 until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, in the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg. Burial will be in the Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
