Virginia M. Bock, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at her home.
She was born Monday, September 15, 1930 in Shippensburg, Franklin County, PA. Virginia was a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Smith Gettel.
Virginia attended the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. She was a member of the First Court Chapter # 470, Order of the Eastern Star, Shippensburg. Virginia enjoyed cooking, quilting, crafts, puzzles, reading and most of all spending time with her family. Prior to being married she was employed at the former Marden Clothing Company in Shippensburg.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Bock who died July 11, 1993, two brothers, Harold and Gerald Gettel, and one sister, Jane Gettel.
Virginia is survived by one son, George L. (Michele) Bock of Lurgan, two daughters, Brenda K. (Marlin) Horst of Shippensburg, and Lori A. Leitzel of Newburg, four grandchildren, Amy Horst, Emily and Olivia Leitzel, and Chris Bock, two brothers, Wayne and Robert Gettel both of Chambersburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the Spring Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. with The Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.
