Violet I. Like, 94, a resident of Elmcroft of Shippensburg for the past eight years, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born Thursday, September 13, 1917 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late David and Lizzie B. Coy Varner.
Violet retired from the former L’agilon Company as a Floor Manager after over 30 years of service. She attended the Mainsville United Brethren Church.
Surviving is a son, Elwood H. Like and his wife, Lois of Stephens City, VA., two daughters, Patsy M. Rhine, of Chambersburg and Martha J. Snyder and her husband Frank of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Like who died November 12, 1991, and a great-great grandson Michael Joseph Rhine, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Robert L. Mentzer officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 101 Harrisburg, PA 17110.
