Vera Rebuck

Vera C. Rebuck, 89, of Ridge Road, Shippensburg, died Friday, July 25, 2014 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.

Born Monday, July 13, 1925 in Newburg, she was a daughter of the late Purus W. and Sarah Elizabeth Burdge Scott.

Vera was a member of the Newburg First Church of God. She retired from the Shippensburg University as a custodian, loved crocheting, collecting glassware and traveling with her husband and friends.

Surviving are one son, Earl K. Rebuck of Newburg, two daughters, Kay E. (husband Melvin) Forney of Etters and Gay J. (husband Randy) Arnold of Newburg, daughter in-law, Shirley Varner Rebuck of Lake Placid, FL, four grandchildren, Alyssa Hathaway, Jonathan and James Arnold and Shannon Heller, two great grandchildren, Kaden and Julia Arnold.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Jr.” Rebuck who died November 27, 2000, one son, Purus R. Rebuck, two brothers, Walter and Leroy Scott and one sister, Mabel Garman.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Mongul Cemetery with the Rev. Dale H. Miller, Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg First Church of God, 260 Newburg Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
