Vance L. Reisinger, 82, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Wednesday, August 2, 1939 in Nook, Juniata County, he was a son of the late James R. and Ethel E. Powell Reisinger.
Vance attended the Victory Tabernacle Church of Carlisle. He retired from both Beam Painting in Carlisle as a painter and the Cumberland Valley School District where he worked as a Custodian.
Vance was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 and the Minnequa Social Club, both in Shippensburg. He loved to play music, and played string instruments alongside his nephew and best friend, Floyd Sheets, with the Multitones, Reminisce, and the Sound Investment Bands.
He is survived by six children, Diane C. (companion Rich Rexrode) Wagaman, Waynesboro, Terry L. (wife Jackie) Reisinger, Fayetteville, Brenda J. Mixell, Shippensburg, Sheila M. (husband Sheldon) Boher, Hancock, MD, Rodney (wife Alicia) Gish, Millerstown, and Kirk E. Finnen, Shippensburg; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Boyd Reisinger; one son, Jerry E. Reisinger; five brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Rev. Glenn Yohn officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday, in the funeral home.
