Vada L. Diehl, 80, of 4973 Greenvillage Road, Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 29, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 10, 1930 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County she was a daughter of the late Adam R. and M. Benita Fogelsonger Chamberlin.
She was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God, a Sunday school teacher in the Primary Department and a member of the Berean Sunday school class.
She was the owner and operator of Vada’s Beauty Shop near Middle Spring for over 30 years and was a 1947 graduate of the Shippensburg High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell Chamberlin and two sisters; Mary Stimeling and Fredith Chamberlin.
She is survived by her husband Edgar N. Diehl whom she married October 1, 1949, one son, Stephen E. Diehl and his wife Melinda L. of Newburg, two daughters; Jane L. Garman and her husband Edward L. and Linda M. Ritchie and her husband David L., all of Chambersburg, nine grandchildren; Timothy, Troy, and Jeremy Garman, Joshua and Jennie Diehl, Julianna Bender, and Nathan, Jordan and Andrea Ritchie, eight great grandchildren, four brothers; Albert, Jay and Lee Chamberlin all of Shippensburg, and Glen Chamberlin of Mechanicsburg, two sisters; Marie Goodhart of Carlisle, and Janet Sandy of Palmyra, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the Shippensburg First Church of God at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul L. Tatum and The Rev. Paul K. Hauk. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church Thursday morning.
