Thomas J. Wik, 88, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center. Born December 15, 1923 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late John G. and Anna Wiggins Wik. He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg. Tom retired in 1987 from Ingersoll-Rand and was a life member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg. Tom was a United States Army Veteran of World War II where he was a Prisoner of War. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rosalie A. Boxall Wik who died January 17, 2010 and a brother, John Wik. He is survived by three sons, Dale J. Wik and his wife Bonnie, and Gerald Wik and his wife Doris all of Shippensburg, and Thomas P. Wik of Ocean Grove, NJ, two daughters, Janet Colondrillo and her husband Samuel of Shermansdale, and Carol Linn and her husband Robert of Newburg, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.Graveside services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg with military services conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.
