Thomas E. Shuman, 70, lifelong resident of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born on August 5, 1946, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Carl E. and Velva L. Wolf Shuman and married Doris E. Seitz on August 27, 1966, at the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg.
Thomas was employed with the Shippensburg Borough Water Treatment Facility, for over thirty years. He was scheduled to retire in January of 2017. Thomas was a member of the Shippensburg Fish and Game since 1952 and was often in charge of helping organize their annual “Kid’s Night” activities. Hunting was his passion, he was an excellent woodworker who could craft his own recurve bows, and loved to always be outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Doris; two daughters, Stephanie L. (Alfie J.) Miller and Susan E. (Gary D.) Ford, Jr. both of Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Brittany Moore, Cierra Miller, Damian Myers, Connor Ford, and Colton Ford; two brothers, Kenneth E. and Ray E. Shuman; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will be private.
