Thomas E. Jumper, 57, of Newburg, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his home.
Born Thursday, October 20, 1955 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lester S. and Ruth L. Stake Jumper.
Thomas was a 1973 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam and retired in December of 2011 from Letterkenny Army Depot as a Calibration Technician.
He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Newburg, a life member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 and a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 both in Shippensburg.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years Josefina “Pina” Lazaro Jumper, two sons, Anthony A. Jumper and his wife Kelly of San Diego, CA; and Benjamin E. Jumper of Mechanicsburg; one step daughter, Lilibeth Villanueva and her husband Willie of Hawaii; one step son Jaime Mirabueno and his wife Jasmin of the Philippines; one brother, Ed Jumper of Orrstown; two sisters, Pauline “Polly” R. Martin of Shippensburg and Norma J. Jumper of Carlisle; one granddaughter, Drea Jumper of Pensacola, FL; five step granddaughters, Wilma, Lea, Wendy, and Judylayne Villanueva and Harley Barber, two step grandsons, Michael and Mark Mirabueno and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Otterbein United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Cheryl Houser officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church Building Fund, 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
