Thomas E. Amspacher, 59, of Shippensburg, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 12, 1951 in Hanover, he was a son of Joyce Flemming Amspacher of Hanover and the late Earl Amspacher.
For the past five years he was employed by the Department of Health and Welfare as a Scheduling Supervisor, and before that worked for over 26 years at EDS, Camp Hill.
He was a member and part-time bartender at both the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg, a member of the Minnequa Social Club in Shippensburg and a life member of the McSherrystown Home Association. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Hanover High School and was in the National Guard.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Teresa M. Klunk Amspacher, one daughter, Jennifer L. Kyner and her husband Bradley, Jr. of Shippensburg, one son, Erik B. Amspacher and his companion Megan Ecker of York, three grandsons; Hunter and Garrett Kyner of Shippensburg, and Preston Amspacher of York, one sister, Susan Marsh of Hanover, and one brother, Steven Amspacher of East Berlin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home inc., Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial with military honors will be conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW Posts in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Thursday afternoon.
