Theresa A. Allen, 73, of Newburg, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 12, 1941 in Baltimore MD, she was a daughter of the late James George and Helen Fowler McCrosson.
Theresa was a 1958 graduate of Seaton High School and a 1961 graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing both in Baltimore, MD. She retired as a Registered Nurse after 40 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg, Council of Catholic Women, Future Farmers of America in Chambersburg, and the Carroll County, Maryland 4H Club. She was a Girl Scout and Daisy Leader and loved to play BINGO and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, John Anthony Allen, daughter, Theresa M. (Robert) Warren, son, John M. (Ann) Allen, Son, Frederick J. (Bonnie) Allen, daughter, Katherine A. (Timothy) Everetts, son, Mark A. (Cheryl) Allen, daughter, Ann M. (Dale) Parks and son Bernie J. (Marylyn) Allen, two sisters, Shirley Schwitter, and George Ann Schapper, 17 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Patricia Gorman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 305 North Prince Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with Father Dwight D. Schlaline as Celebrant. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery of McKinney. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the church.
