Theodore Horn

January 11, 1936 — April 13, 2013

Theodore J. “Ted” Horn, 77, of West King Street, Shippensburg, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home.

Born Saturday, January 11, 1936 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late George Lee and Vera Elizabeth Wright Horn.

Ted was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator at the Dry Run Stone Quarry, Ted was a member of the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg.

Ted was a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Minnequa Social Club and the Hub City Club, all in Shippensburg and the AMVETS in Chambersburg. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Lodge F. & A.M. # 315, Shippensburg.

Surviving are his companion of 33 years, Thelma M. Brenize of Shippensburg; one daughter, Sharon K. Robinson and her husband, Dennis of Blairs Mills, two sons, Daryl J. Horn of Chambersburg and Timothy J. Horn and his wife Kathy of Doylesburg, two brothers, Emery P. Horn and his wife Rose of Shippensburg, Curtis C. Horn and his wife Virginia of Cumberland MD, two sisters, Ora Lee Gipe of Shippensburg and Beryl Walls of St. Thomas and five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman, Forrest, Gerald, Richard and Calvin Horn and five sisters, Delores Rosenberry, Betty Mackey, Aldine Shields, Hattie McGee and Loraine Hockenberry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home with the Rev. Kimberley Wadlington officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. Viewings will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, in the funeral home.
