Thelma L. Martin, 86, a resident of Penn Hall, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Menno Haven.
She was born August 24, 1928 in Centerville, Cumberland County, PA. Thelma was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary B. Railing Gettel. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence R. Martin who died January 5, 2013. Two sisters and a three brothers are also deceased.
Thelma was primarily a homemaker and helped on the family farm. She was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, taught Children’s Sunday school, and a member of their Ladies Fellowship.
Thelma is survived by four sons, Robert L. (Patsy) Martin of Chambersburg, Ray L. (Gloria) Martin of Waynesboro, Clyde E. Martin of Newville, and Garry W. (Vicki) Martin of Mercersburg, two daughters, Ruth L. Bradley of Ypsilanta, MI, and Peggy M. (Gerald) Porter of Chesapeake, VA, 16 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 in the Ridge Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Earl F. Stovall. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in the church Monday morning.
