Thelma R. Allison, 81, formerly of 408 Maple Hill Ave., Shippensburg, died on the afternoon of Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on February 3, 1932, in Mt. Union, Huntingdon, Co., a daughter of the late Charles and Marie Price Secrest. On November 1, 1953, Thelma married Mr. Carl D. Allison in McVeytown. He preceded her in death, after 60 years of marriage, on September 7, 2013.
Thelma was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a long time member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. In her free time Thelma liked to read and spend time with her family, especially at the gazebo, by the pond at her daughter Cathy’s house.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy J. (Barry) Johnson of Newville and Rhonda A. (Timothy) Capron of Rocklin, CA; four grandchildren, Kristy (Travis) Warren of Chambersburg, Eric Capron of Irvine, CA, Marta Sakkas of Greece, and Jonathan Capron of Waco, TX; and one sister, Ida Bardell of Camp Hill.
In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Her funeral service and interment will be private. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.
