Tena T. Heckman

Tena T. Heckman, 82, of Shippensburg, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at her home.

Born Tuesday, November 11, 1941 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Guy S. and Elsie M. Bingham Timmons.

Tena was a 1959 graduate of the Chambersburg Senior High School and a 1963 graduate of the Shippensburg Teacher’s College. She was a member of the Ridge Covenant Brethren Church in Shippensburg. Tena retired from the Big Spring School District as a seventh grade Math Teacher.

She enjoyed walking, gardening and watching the birds. Tena also was an avid reader and loved to read her Bible. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially playing with her granddaughter, Jade.

She is survived by one daughter, Heather L. (husband Michael) Weimer, Newburg; one granddaughter, Jade M. Weimer, Newburg; four brothers, William B. Timmons, Thomas H. (wife Ramona) Timmons, Daniel B. (wife Joanne) Timmons, and David F. (wife Linda) Timmons, all of Orrstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Heckman, who passed away June 14, 1999; and one brother, Guy G. Timmons.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
