Ted W. Scheaffer, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born October 26, 1932 in Shippensburg, PA. Ted was a son of the late Blake and Dorothy Tarner Scheaffer.
He retired from the Shippensburg University where he was a painter. Ted served with the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Hub City Club, Minnequa Social Club, Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 all in Shippensburg. Ted was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Melva J. Peiper Scheaffer; one daughter, Annette P. (Gregg) Feie; one son Ted W. (Gloria) Scheaffer, Jr.; three grandchildren, Gregory & Dillon Feie and Corey Scheaffer; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Saam and Alice Evans; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Scheaffer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. John A. Ile, Jr. Burial with military honors will be conducted in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
