Ted L. Lytle, 71, of Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon County, PA, passed away the morning of Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital after a struggle with heart failure.
He was born on September 16, 1950 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Harold E. and Nellie G. (Hardy) Lytle, Sr. Ted spent most of his adult life in the Shippensburg area.
Ted was a 1969 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and retired as a shipping clerk from the former Ingersoll-Rand Co. He enjoyed hunting, classic cars, specifically International Scouts, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ted also loved spending time with his yellow labrador retriever, Rum, who passed away several years ago.
He is survived by his two children, Gail L. (Brad) Swartz of Chambersburg, and Eric S. Lytle of Palm Coast, FL; one grandson, Dustin J. Swartz of Chambersburg; and three siblings, Harold E. (Robin) Lytle, Jr. of Spindale, NC, Dennis L. (Janet) Lytle of Shippensburg, and Carole L. (Stephen) Kann of Shippensburg.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing or visitation at this time. However, friends and family of Ted’s are invited to a luncheon in his memory on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Durff-Kuhn VFW, 130 W. King St., Shippensburg, PA.
