Susan M. Sites, 90, lifelong resident of Orrstown, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on February 21, 1932, in Orrstown, a daughter of the late Leroy and Ethel Cover. Susan was a 1950 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. She married Glenn K. Sites on June 28, 1952.
Susan worked as a weaver at the former Hoffman Mills, from where she retired after 42 years of employment. She was a longtime member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg.
In their younger years, Susan and Glenn did quite a bit of camping. In later years, they enjoyed playing UNO together. Susan’s most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of seventy years, Glenn, she is survived by a son, Rick Sites and wife Judy of Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Lenzee Johnston and husband Justin of Daytona Beach, FL, and Joshua Sites of Shippensburg; four great grandchildren, Tegin, Lana, Caynin, and Paisley Johnston, all of Daytona Beach, FL; one brother, Donald Cover and wife Patricia of Chambersburg; one sister, Bonnie Barrick and husband Tom of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded by a son in infancy, Glenn Jr.; a sister, Jean; and a brother William.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday afternoon, at the funeral home.
