Susan Leaphart

Susan C. Leaphart, 77, a resident of Celebration Villa of Shippensburg, departed this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

She was born on Tuesday, November 12, 1946 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Betty J. (Sheaffer) Leaphart and Paul B. Leaphart.

Susan was a graduate of Shippensburg University and was a long time attendee of the Christ United Methodist Church.

For many years, Susan taught second grade at the James Burd Elementary School in Shippensburg. She always loved being a teacher and watching her students grow up. Susan was a huge animal lover of all animals. She decorated her classrooms with animal themes and would sometimes bring a tarantula into school as a classroom pet for her students. Susan always loved her family and enjoyed caring for and spending time with them.

Susan is survived by one son, Benjamin P. Leaphart of Philadelphia; and her dog, Sadie.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service at this time.
