Steven R. Myers, 61, of Carlisle, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 in the Martinsburg VA Center.

He was born June 27, 1952 in Chambersburg, PA. He was a son of Freda Heckman Myers of Shippensburg and the late Robert Myers.

He was the owner and operator of the former Myer’s Total Maintenance in Carlisle. Steven was a member of the Christ Community Church in Camp Hill. He was a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 2500 both in Shippensburg. Steve was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a 1971 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, a graduate of Tri Tech in Pittsburgh and attended Wilson College in Chambersburg.

In addition to his mother Steve is survived by his wife, Connie F. Dewalt Myers, two sons, Greg Myers of Chambersburg, and Joshua Myers of Carlisle, a daughter, Malena Rosenberry and her husband Anthony of Chambersburg, four step children, Mary Sample of Newville, Brigitte Grenell and her husband James of West Chester, Ronald “Butch” Hockenberry of Shippensburg, Cory Bounds and his wife Sophia of Carlisle, three brothers, Robert, and Larry “Sam” Myers of Shippensburg, and Curt Myers of Newburg, three sisters, Jacquelee Mower and Madea Bauserman of Shippensburg, and Tracey McCorkle of Carlisle, 22 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Roth. Military services will be conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW Posts at the funeral home. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation, Western PA Chapter, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
