Steven Kushner, Jr., 66, departed this life after an unexpectedly courageous and hard fought battle with cancer, on the morning of Friday, July 22, 2022, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on March 30, 1956, in Sewickley and grew up on Neville Island, PA, the son of the late Steven and Estella (Lynch) Kushner, Sr. Steve married Carole L. Gibson on August 29, 1986. He worked in the health care field as an x-ray service technician for many years.
Steve proved himself to be a wonderful, dedicated, and loving husband and father. He always put in extra effort to attend every game and performance for his children and grandchildren. Steve was a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan, particularly finding the most enjoyment attending Penguins games with his lifelong best friend. He most enjoyed spending time vacationing with his wife in Key West and taking Sunday rides on his Harley or in his Camaro.
Dad, a father like you is rare. One that is so generous, smart, and kind. One that has a sense of humor that is unmatchable. A father like you is what everyone needs, full of laughter and jokes, integrity, grit, courage, and strength.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Carole; two sons, James Blosser (Maria Geiger) and Shane Kushner; one daughter, Shawna Kushner; and two grandchildren, Leighton and Laila.
The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a future date and time, in Coraopolis, PA, for his family and friends.
