Sonya Kay Coover, 75, of Findlay, OH, departed this life on the afternoon of Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Bridge Hospice Care Center.
She was born on July 4, 1949, in Kenton, OH, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Anna L. (Kerns) Fowler. Sonya married Daniel Alan Coover on September 5, 1981, in Columbus, OH.
Sonya was primarily a homemaker throughout her life. However she worked for American Greeting Cards as a merchandiser earlier in life. Sonya also worked for a period of time as an event planner in the Career Services Department, at the University of Findlay, from where she retired in 2006. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Findlay.
Being born on the fourth of July, Sonya was a born patriot, and enjoyed all things relating to and celebrating that day. She also liked art and taking trips to Florida. Her main priority was her family, being a caring mother, and dedicated spouse.
In addition to her husband of forty-three years, Daniel, she is survived by her daughter, Aleischa Louise Coover of Port Charlotte, FL; her son, Aaron Daniel Coover of Dayton, OH; her grandson, Tristan Matthew Coover of Rome, GA; her brother, Bruce Wayne Fowler and wife Linda of Wakeman, OH; her half-sister, Angela Jean Anderson and husband Daniel Sean of Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Sonya was preceded in death by her parents.
The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. Her graveside funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
