Sonja Crider, 61 of Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the Hershey Medical Center.
Born Thursday, May 3, 1951 in Sisak, Croatia, she was a daughter of the late Drago and Angela Steponivich Trepse.
Sonja worked as a cashier at Giant Foods and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW #1599 Ladies Auxiliary and the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corp. League, and a social member of the AMVETS #224 all in Chambersburg.
Sonja loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughters. She was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about history.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Daniel R. Crider; three daughters, Kristina Marija Mowery and her husband James of New Berlin, Mira Ann Olson and her husband Jesse of Boonsboro, MD and Eileen Rosalie Mason and her husband Mark of Mercersburg; two granddaughters, Abigail Morgan Olson and Payton Taylor Olson both Boonsboro, MD; two brothers, Peter and John Brkic, both of Berlin Germany; a very special friend, Mira Bruder of Switzerland; a sister in-law Martha J. Ford and her husband Earl of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father Peter Brkic.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home with the Rev. Andre J. Meluskey and the Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
