Shirley J. West, 79, of Orrstown, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her daughter Laura’s home in Chambersburg.
She was born Sunday, April 12, 1936 in Paxtang, Dauphin County. Shirley was a daughter of the late David and Margaret Eutzy Lehman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George P. West, Sr. who died May 31, 2008 and seven brothers and sisters.
Shirley enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, cooking, animals, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of the National Rifle Association. Shirley was an avid Willie Nelson and Duck Dynasty fan and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by one son, George P. (wife Teresa) West, Jr. of Chambersburg, two daughters, Jennie L. (husband Daniel) Cordell of Shippensburg, and Laura A. (husband Jeremy) Ott of Chambersburg, six grandchildren, Robert (his wife Valerie) West, Rebecca West, Ethan, Jacob, and Carter Ott, and Brittany Sherman, and three great grandchildren, Jaycie Sims, Johnathon and Katelynn West.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 5:30 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Steve Salisbury. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. A viewing will be held Saturday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
