Shirley Elizabeth Neil, 73, of Newville, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Tuesday, May 23, 1943 in Willow Hill, she was a daughter of the late Ella Jane Hobble Parks.
Shirley was a member of the Local Gathering Nazarene Church of the Nazarene. She retired in 2009 from Knouse Foods in Peach Glen as a label machine operator.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony L. Neil, Sr. of Carlisle and Jeffrey J. (wife Michele) Neil, Sr. of Roxbury; one daughter, Audrey M. Neil of Newville; two brothers, Marvin Parks, of Chambersburg and John Hobble of Huntingdon, one granddaughter whom she raised as her own Keisha S. Ickes of Newville; 13 additional grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Neil who died November 29, 1998, two sons, Kevin L. Neil, Charles L. Neil, three brothers, Wilbur (Jim) Parks, Gary Parks and Mike Hobble and one sister, Linda Barthalow.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Local Gathering Church of the Nazarene, 611 Shippensburg Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257, with Pastor Joseph Thomas and Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil officiating. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation.
