Shirley Jane Lindsay, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home.
Born Wednesday, February 10, 1937 in Mansfield, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Helen L. Karper Gipe.
Shirley worked as a seamstress at the former Stanley Company with 34 years of service and was an employee at the Shippensburg Wal-Mart with 10 years of service.
She is survived by seven children, Vickie L. (husband Dennis) Shaffer, Sr. of Orrstown, Wanda J. Scott, Chambersburg, John R. (wife Glenda) Fickes, Lemasters, Cheryl A. Wells, Mont Alto, Karen D. Simmons, Waynesboro, Stephanie A. (husband Nick) Hoffman, Chambersburg and Greg A. Fickes, Shippensburg; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; also surviving is one brother; Richard Gipe, Newburg and five sisters; Patricia Craig, Shippensburg, Doris Heberlig, Chambersburg, Josephine Henry, Doylesburg, Helen Miller, Lemoyne and Connie Gipe, Carlisle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Douglas E. Fickes, three sisters, Betty Exline, Juanita Burkett, Joann Duncan and one brother, Patrick Gipe.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, with the Rev. Philip Steele officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
