Shirley Ann Gochenour, 83, a resident of the Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA formerly of Orrstown, PA, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in the Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA.
Born Saturday, January 30, 1937 in Harrisburg, PA, Dauphin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Kennedy and Agnes (Springer) Kennedy Moyer.
A 1956 graduate of Scotland School for Veterans Children, Scotland, PA. Shirley worked as an Electronics Technician for Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA with 20 years of service. Previously she worked many years at the South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain, PA.
She was married 61 years to her beloved husband Curvin Joseph Gochenour Jr. She is a member of the Franklin County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Chambersburg, PA. Her hobbies included, spending time with her family, and enjoying the woods and wildlife that surrounded their log home in Orrstown. She especially enjoyed feeding the Hummingbirds. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Quincy Village and watching her favorite football team play the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by three children, Sabrina A. (husband Fred) Railing, of Fleetwood, PA, Curvin J. Gochenour, III, of Chambersburg, and Jennifer J. Stopyra, of Orrstown; five grandchildren, Shannon (husband Andrew) Egan, Zachary (wife Brooke) Railing, Jillian (husband Joel) Salmon, Timothy Stopyra, Jr., and Emmalee Stopyra; four great grandchildren, Zander Salmon, Monroe Salmon, Primrose Egan, and Calvin Egan; one sister and one brother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curvin Joseph Gochenour Jr. in 2019, one grandchild, Sabrina M. (Railing) Felise in 2007, and two brothers.
She will be buried in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery, Pleasant Hall, PA. A private graveside service will be held.
