Scott J. Robinson, 61, of Shippensburg, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on September 3, 1963 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Kenneth E. and Patricia A. (Coy) Robinson. He married Sondra L. Wright on January 11, 1988.
Scott was a 1981 graduate of Shippensburg High School, worked as a groundskeeper for Chambersburg Area School District, and member of the Minnequa Social Club 375. Scott was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Penn State football, and Philadelphia Phillies. He had a passion for hunting and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan.
Scott dedicated his life to coaching. He coached youth athletics for over 30 years in the Shippensburg area. Alongside his friend Rick Shank, he coached the Warriors youth basketball team for 27 years and won 18 championships within that span. He also coached Little League baseball for 20 years and midget football for the Eagles for several years. He coached his sons for many years and provided advice to his daughter with her sporting activities. Even during the times Scott was not coaching on the field or court, he was always coaching from the sidelines. He loved watching his oldest granddaughter play sports and was eager and looking forward to coaching his other grandchildren in their future sporting endeavors.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, Sondra L. Robinson of Shippensburg, he is survived by three children, S. Tyler Robinson and wife Ally of Shippensburg, Shenelle P. Elliott and husband Joe of Chambersburg, and Spencer B. Robinson of Shippensburg; and five grandchildren, Kaydence and Laikyn Robinson and Riley, Haley, and Ryder Elliott.
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents who played a huge role in his life, Mildred and Elmo Kohler.
