Saundra L. Shives, 63, of Shippensburg, died Monday, January 23, 2012 in the emergency room at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 1, 1948 in McConnellsburg, Fulton County, she was a daughter of the late Foster Jack, Sr. and Esther Walker Weller.
Saundra was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church and TOPS of Shippensburg. She was currently working for Kathy’s Deli at Volvo in Shippensburg and previously was employed for over 16 years with Mt. Rock Care and Share. Saundra enjoyed camping, reading, crocheting, and telling jokes.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Weller, Foster Weller, Jr., and Jackie Weller, two sisters, Tina Weller and Carol Hill, and one great grandson Mason Sease.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis R. Shives whom she married October 10, 1965, one son, David M. Shives and his wife Peggy of Orrstown, one daughter, Christina R. Weaver of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, Tyler Shives, Heather Weaver, Brittany Weaver, Richard Felix, and Curtis Felix, two great grandchildren, Kole Yeagey and Kayleigh Klein, two brothers, Robert “Buck” Weller and his wife Joan of Greencastle, and Theodore “Butch” Weller and his wife Donna of McConnellsburg, four sisters, Dorthea Hann and her husband Leonard of McConnellsburg, Edith Weller of Chambersburg, Linda Thomas and her husband Bob of Mercersburg, and Susan Mellott and her husband Carl of McConnellsburg, and a pet grandson, Enos.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Mongul United Brethren Church at 1 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Rocky W. Spear. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services Saturday in church.
