Sarah P. Misner, 89, a resident of the Episcopal Home, Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Monday, March 19, 2018.
She was born on January 16, 1929, in Newburg, a daughter of the late Elmer F. and Anna Mary Halter Hurley.
Sarah worked as a seamstress for the former Nettie Frocks Co., Shippensburg. She attended the Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church, enjoyed volunteering at BINGO for the Cumberland Valley Hose Co. #2, and was an active member of the Branch Creek Place Senior Center.
Sarah is survived by two sons, Rodger L. (Chrisy) Yohe of Shippensburg and James (Toni) Yohe, Jr., of Shippensburg; four daughters, Judy (Fred) Alleman of Newville, Susan Custer of Shippensburg, Joyce (John) Shannon of Shippensburg, and Esther (Wayne) Culbertson of Newburg; two sisters, Isabell Hockersmith of Newville, and Esther Dunlap of Newburg; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Yohe; her second husband, Max Misner; one brother; nine sisters; a grandson, Andrew Davis Yohe; and one great grandson, Bryson Shannon.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
