Sara E. Gettel, 85, of Gettysburg, passed away the morning of Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital.
She was born on September 24, 1936 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Rexford H. and Edna K. (Wenger) Frey, Sr.
Sara attended the Harbor Light Temple, Chambersburg.
She is survived by her son, James L. Gettel of Shippensburg; and one brother, Rexford H. Frey, Jr., of Shippensburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gettel; and one sister, Darlene McEldowney.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor Andy Ficks will officiate. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Remembrance Chapel.
