Samuel Neidigh

October 10, 1941 — January 23, 2012

Samuel E. Neidigh Sr. 70 of Newville, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends after a brief battle with cancer.
Born Friday, October 10, 1941 in McCrea, PA, he was a son of the late Russell and Mary Miller Neidigh.
Samuel was of the Protestant Faith. He retired in 2003 from Carlisle Tire and Wheel. Samuel was an avid outdoorsman and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, loved playing Blue grass and gospel music on his guitar and banjo and spending time with his family and children.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Barbara J. Hosfelt Neidigh of Newville, one son, Samuel E. Neidigh Jr. of Boiling Springs, seven daughters, Anita Neidigh, Plainfield, Sherry Etter, Loysville, Donna Barclay, Carlisle, Kristine Beck and Michelle Boose, both of Newville, Lisa Neidigh and Sandy Neidigh, both of Carlisle, one brother, Gordon Neidigh, Shippensburg, four sisters, Dorothy Marpoe, Newville, Mildred Neidigh, Shippensburg, Pearl Ditmer, Carlisle and Irene Fry of Shermansdale. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren including Michael E. Detwiler whom Samuel and his wife raised from the time he was a baby, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Lester Neidigh and two sisters, Edna Rife and Cora Bonawitz.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home with Pastor Don Snyder officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
