Ruth N. Myers, 97, of Shippensburg, died on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

Born on January 12, 1914, in Orrstown, a daughter of the late Charles Bayard and Daisy Tressa Parson Cisney. A 1932 graduate of the Shippensburg Area High School, she married her husband Mr. William Bruce Myers in 1936.

Ruth and her husband owned and operated their own dairy farm for many years. She also worked at the former Shirtcraft Company for three years, prior to going into farming.

She was a long time member of the Orrstown United Brethren Church and in her later years, very much enjoyed attending the Southampton Place Senior Center.

She is survived by four sisters, Tressa Thomson of Chambersburg; Frances “Dolly” Zullinger and Patsy Breneman, both of Orrstown; Janet Brown of Lake Havasu, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Bruce Myers, who died on November 7, 1996, four brothers, and three sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, April 29, 2011, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. The Rev. Milton R. Herrold, Jr. will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southampton Place Senior Center at 200 Airport Road Shippensburg, PA 17257 or the Orrstown United Brethren Church at PO Box 180 Orrstown, PA 17244.
